Product designer
This is a hackathon project ideated at Cruzhacks. The goal was to create a simple web application for college students to divide note-taking during lectures.
Problem
Students get easily distracted during lectures — being on their phone, their mind being elsewhere, and more. This results in missing important information that they could get tested on in future exams.
Limitations
With the restriction of being a hackathon project, my team of 3 set up our goals and I started mocking up some ideas.

Landing page
The goal was to create the main page as simple as possible while drawing the user to join a session. I wanted to introduce some playful elements and created quick vector illustrations with Adobe Illustrator.
Join a session
I wanted to create an intuitive flow where users could either create a new session or join an existing one. “Join a Room” is placed in the beginning since that would be used more often.

Since this web application is tailored towards student users, the session names would be the school name appended to the session name. This would make it easy for students to join a session by searching for their school name to find active sessions.
Note-taking page
As the time was coming up to deliver the designs, I had two main priorities:
1.) A collaborative web-based word documenting section
2.) Instant, session-only text messaging section

What I learned
Create a quick design system
This project would have been a lot easier to create more screens with CTA components, a nice color system, etc.
Designing for fun
With all the freedom and two focused days, it was rewarding to see my illustrations and components coded into a real web application (github).
